Great to read about Louise and Esther Skellys' County Down based Clun Forest Flock and Farm enterprise in this weeks edition of Farmweek. The Skelly's keep 35 ewes as the base for a 200 strong commercial flock.
The Royal Show Championship was for many years the the 'Holy Grail' of every livestock showman but 1990's saw a decline in the show and finally in 2009 the show ceased to exist. The judge that final year, Nigel Faulkner, has managed to find the historical moments of the last clun classes at the world famous show (captured by his wife Claire) and they have now been added to the archive page. There are 23 in total on the archive page, but here is a selection and we are hopeful that more will follow from Nigel & Claire. If you have any photos, press cutting or catalogue you'd like digitally copied and added then drop me a email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Where will this fabulous breed take us next!
