GENERAL Alert, vigorous and ‘sharp’ in appearance, legs of a medium length, back level and free from coarseness. Is 'bold' in appearance and has a good constitution.
HEAD Long, clean face of dark brown colour and free from white hair or speckling on the jaw. 'Greying' around the nose on older rams is acceptable, face should also free from excessive wrinkles. Ears of short to medium length, set well on top of the head at '5 to 1'. Bold bright eyes that look straight ahead. Top of head nicely covered with wool and free from dark or black wool.
NECK Strong and muscular of medium length carried high from shoulders.
BACK Broad, lengthy and level tapering slightly from the hindquarters to neck, covered with firm flesh.
FLEECE Medium length of a fine, close texture on a nice pink skin, free from dark spots or kemp.
CHEST Full deep through to heart, straight front legs of strong bone.
BODY Deep with well sprung ribs with plenty of heart room, strong bone and standing square on all legs.
LOIN Strong, level and well fleshed.
HINDQUARTERS Wide and deep, filled with flesh; the tail docked level with the hocks.
